Article from Singapore’s Electric New Paper
Some times ago, Tom told us that they are being interviewed by Singapore’s media. I think it has something to do with the album being released there last June. Tom also said he would like to tour there someday.
The New Paper was one of the media that interviewed McFLY and they got to interview Dougie (The Strait Times interviewed Tom I think).
Honestly, I like this interview and think it’s pretty funny. Dougie didn’t exactly tell us anything new, apart from his confession that Frankie is with him only because of Flea. ^_^ Bless her. Click on more to read part of the article, then click the source to read the complete article.
UK band beats the Beatles
But it’s nothing to do with talent, says McFly’s Dougie Poynter

NO ONE has saved the world like Keanu Reeves has as Neo in sci-fi trilogy The Matrix.
But UK band McFly’s bassist Dougie Poynter begs to differ.
The 22-year-old reckons he can take the iconic role to the next dimension.
Speaking to The New Paper over the phone from London, a cheeky Poynter said: ‘I think I can take it to the next level – adult-content level, that is, with all the PVC costumes.’Poynter’s lofty ambition has nothing to do with his acting talent. He admitted that neither he nor his bandmates has any.
So McFly’s acting may not be Oscar-worthy.
Surely it must have been gifted enough to become the Guinness World Records’ youngest band to debut at No. 1 with Room On The 3rd Floor (2004). Then, the average age of McFly’s members was 18.
Still, a self-deprecating Poynter said: ‘Talent has got nothing to do with us clinching the title. ‘It’s just an age thing. But of course we’re grateful.’McFly clearly does not take itself seriously, in spite of its success.
This ‘talent-less’ group won UK pop magazine Smash Hits Awards’ Best UK Band in 2004 and 2005, and the BRIT Awards’ Best Pop Act in 2005.Poynter says he and Sandford have been left alone by the UK media.
He said: ‘It’s not as crazy as what people think. Sure, we have been stopped on the streets for photos – we understand that. Otherwise, Frankie and I do very normal stuff without being disturbed.’
Poynter claims it was love at first sight for him. But the same cannot be said of Sandford. So what was Sandford’s first impression of Poynter and what made her change her mind?
According to Poynter, who directed my question to Sandford, she hated him when she first knew him and still does.
Poynter said: ‘She says she’s only with me because of Flea.’
