McFly Drummer Opens Cancer Centre
McFly drummer Harry Judd officially opened a new centre for teenagers with cancer at Addenbrooke’s Hospital today (Friday).
The Oasis Centre has been built for teenagers with cancer to use before a new, multi-million pound specialist unit opens at Addenbrooke’s next year.
Inside is a lounge with big screen TV, games consoles, juke box and table football, as well as a kitchen/diner, therapy room and study room.
Young cancer patients from anywhere in the region can use the new facilities, regardless of where they’re being treated.
Harry told Heart: “The Oasis Centre looks amazing. I’m so impressed with the positive environment here and I know that this centre, and the new unit, will make a huge difference to young people with cancer, giving them the ability to chill out with each other and still be teenagers.”
