McFLY are proving to be popular overseas – especially with Latino ladies.

The boys have spent six months cracking Latin America – and landed themselves a few award nods because of it.

TOM FLETCHER, DANNY JONES, DOUGIE POYNTER and HARRY JUDD have been nominated for Best International New Artist at the MTV Latin music awards.

They are the only UK act in the running for the awards, which take place in Bogota, Colombia, and Los Angeles on October 15. They are up against US warblers LADY GAGA, TAYLOR SWIFT and ASHLEY TISDALE and Aussies THE VERONICAS.

I hope they win. Danny and Harry are Lords.

Not content with having half the young ladies in the UK lusting after them, the McFly lads have now taken over the Latino ladies of the world, too. Well, they have if this latest award nod is anything to go by. Tom, Danny, Harry and Dougie have been nominated for Best International New Artist at the MTV Latin music awards – and they’re the only UK act in the running for the awards (get them!). The boys are overjoyed with the news, even if it is for a new artist award. Tom joked on Twitter last night, “It’s so awesome that we’re nominated for a Latin MTV award. Kinda funny it’s for newcomer…we’ve been a band for 6 years!” The lads are currently working on a brand new album – their second since they left their record label and set up on their own – and from what we’ve heard on the McGrapvine, it promises to be the boys’ best work yet. The lads have spent the past six months trying to crack Latin America and have now earned themselves a Best International New Artist nomination at the MTV awards there. The only UK act nominated, they’re up against Lady GaGa, and Taylor Swift.

McFly’s video Lies has been nominated for Rushes Soho Shorts Festival in Music Video category. The video, directed by Ben Folley and Chris Hopewell (Collision Films), is up against 29 other music videos.
